Music History: Top Singles, Each Decade

Great twitter thread. I’ve included a few hits.

ARCHIE HENDERSON (@jazzemu_) I am a music historian, and with I have researched the best-selling single of every decade all the way back to 14,000 BC:

Late Night With Thom Yorke

I’m not sure what you bastards think about electronic music, but since Thom Yorke made it, I’ll at least give it a try. I’ve been pretty hooked on his solo album that came out a few months ago, but wasn’t sure how the songs would sound when performed live. Apparently, pretty good. Jimmy Kimmel comes on past my bedtime, so thank goodness for the You Tube which will allow us to witness this late night mini concert. Enjoy. Or don’t.

So what’s your take? Good? Bad? Meh?

Um …

This is either the best or worst thing I’ve ever seen.

EDIT: Video won’t embed because they want you to watch it on YouTube so they can try to talk you into buying the song on iTunes. Diabolical.

Uh Oh!

As heard on Underground Garage this morning. Good stuff!

The Coolies are a new collaboration between Muffs frontwoman Kim Shattuck, former Friggs guitarist Palmyra Delran and Muffs / White Flag member Melanie Vammen. This supergroup of sorts has released their debut 6 song EP on Wicked Cool Records. Some amazing guest musicians are along for the ride.
