Whatever Games I Play

The RNRHF just released a bunch of clips from this year’s induction ceremony. As you bastards may or may not remember, I don’t give two shits about that ridiculous institution, but it did give us this performance. The Cure still sounds amazing live, and Robert Smith is promising a new Cure album this year.

The clip below is included only for his good-natured sarcasm, which made me laugh. I’m sure she meant well …

The Rutles

Not sure how long this’ll be up on YouTube, so enjoy it whilst you can. I’d forgotten just how great the music is.

And the more you know about The Beatles story, the funnier it is.

Another Talented Bastard

And I like listening to him, too.

ABOUT KARL KOPINSKI

I was born and raised in Nottingham, UK and have been working in the illustration industry since 1997. I am largely self taught, using both traditional and digital media I have worked with a large variety of clients including Peter Jackson, Sir Paul Smith, Hasbro, Ubisoft, Aboud Creative, Sixmorevodka, Wizards of the Coast and Games Workshop to name but a few.

I am also a keen portraitist and have undertaken commissions for numerous clients including a portrait of Sir Paul Smith which was featured in his recent book “Hello my name is Paul Smith”.

In collaboration with Sir Paul Smith I had my first solo show in London last year featuring cyclist portraits from an ongoing project.

I still reside in Nottingham with my wife, two children and dog, I am available for commissions. Karl

Go Ask Alice

A rare peek behind the mask when Alice Cooper was still scaring the adults.

… we have uncovered an interview of Alice Cooper in the midst of the massively successful 1973-1974 Billion Dollar Babies tour. In the video, he is interviewed at the Hotel Hesperia in Helsinki, Finland, discussing his stage persona, rock music, violence, his audiences, and musical influences.

At the time, Alice was in Europe to promote the original band’s upcoming film, “Good To See You Again, Alice Cooper”, which predominately featured live concert footage filmed at the 1973 Sam Houston Coliseum show. Alice then headed to Brazil where the band became the first western band to perform there.

This rare interview filmed by YLE, The Finnish Broadcasting Company for the Finnish TV Show “Iltatähti”, was originally broadcast on April 13, 1974.

Speaking Of KISS

Bally produced 17,000 of these things back in 1979. Nowadays, median asking price is $2,550.

Fat Elvis, you need one.

A Nasty Repost

Happy Halloween, bastards.

Late Night With Thom Yorke

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Yo54Xoxq3g

I’m not sure what you bastards think about electronic music, but since Thom Yorke made it, I’ll at least give it a try. I’ve been pretty hooked on his solo album that came out a few months ago, but wasn’t sure how the songs would sound when performed live. Apparently, pretty good. Jimmy Kimmel comes on past my bedtime, so thank goodness for the You Tube which will allow us to witness this late night mini concert. Enjoy. Or don’t.

So what’s your take? Good? Bad? Meh?

Thom Yorke’s Favorite R.E.M. Song

Or so he says …

Did you never call? I waited for your call
These rivers of suggestion are driving me away
The trees will bend, the cities wash away
The city on the river there’s a girl without a dream

I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry

Eastern to Mountain, third party call, the lines are down
The wise man built his words upon the rocks
But I’m not bound to follow suit
The trees will bend, the conversation’s dimmed
Go build yourself another home, this choice isn’t mine

I’m sorry, I’m sorry

Did you never call? I waited for your call
These rivers of suggestion are driving me away
The ocean sang, the conversation’s dimmed
Go build yourself another dream, this choice isn’t mine

I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry
