The bit at the end about how to convince people is fascinating. I have colleagues who have taken the fight to social media. A lot of arguments ensue with people who post ill-informed and idiotic responses to local public health updates.
Since many citizens have open profiles, I checked one out yesterday, just to see who my colleague was arguing with. This post was representative of the person’s profile:
Needless to say, there’s little common ground or shared worldview from which to have a productive conversation.
But if her favorite vacuous Instagram influencer says “this conspiracy stuff is bogus, make sure you wear a mask” — she might listen.
