I’m not sure about this movie. It’s interesting that they’re focusing on his death, but it looks like they take a lot of license and it might slip into some kind of fantasy / horror angle, so it could be really bad. I stayed in the St. Charles where JT died. Why would you go to New Orleans to get cleaned up?
Rich F*ckers Do Something Nice For Once
Mick and Keef gave Richard Ashcroft back the rights to Bitter Sweet Symphony. Which is nice, because they could probably use the money. Story from Dickfork here.
Johnny, Dick. Dick, Johnny
Never seen this one before. PIL on American Bandstand. Lydon seems to be enjoying himself at least.
Fest 18

The first batch of Fest 18 (that’s the number, not the year) bands has been announced and it’s a doozey. Jawbreaker is headlining, which blows my mind, but the rest of the line-up looks pretty great as well (Mariachi El Bronx, Dag Nasty, Lee Bains III, etc. etc.). Almost makes living in Pigville worthwhile. Almost.

More AC Obsession

Pretty cool deep dive into the guitars Alex owned and played during the Big Star period can be found HERE. Some nice images as well.
Speaking Of Things That Haven’t Aged Well
I love the Stones, but Jeebus, they did some horrible videos. Case in point:
Shit

Peter Halsten Thorkelson (Tork), February 13, 1942 – February 21, 2019
I always said the Monkees were a better band than they should’ve been. Rolling Stone has a brief obit here.
All Of My Shoes
I remember Makerbot having to pull off the side of the road we were laughing so hard at this.
Holy Shit!
A new Long Ryders record! A new Long Ryders record!
And for reference, an old Long Ryders cover of a NRBQ song that should’ve been a hit for both bands.
Let It Be
This should be inneresting:
Peter Jackson has signed on to direct a second archive project: a film edited from the full 55 hours of footage of the Beatles’ Let It Be recording sessions.
Jackson will somehow produce a 65 hr documentary. Apparently the original version is getting a scrub and re-release to coincide.
