  1. I’m going to try to catch it this week. Thanks for the spoiler alert. (I didn’t watch). Will report back in short order.

  2. He’s not wrong. But it’s funny and may not matter.

When I watch a David Lynch film, I have zero expectations other than watching something that Lynch thinks is really cool. Traditional narrative, easy explanation, coherence … maybe not. But I don’t care.

I may be at the same place with Coppola. Megalopolis seems to give the audience credit for being able to think for themselves and make of it what they will. I like the time control ambiguity. Is it real? Is it metaphorical? Who knows? It at least feels like it wasn’t shown to a test audience who got to whine about it. And I love that.

There are scenes from this one that will stick in my brain for a while and stimulate me.

  3. I intended to see this over fall break but did not due to various rabbit holes. Now it’s no longer in theaters, and my stubborness won’t let me spend $25 to watch it on YouTube. I’ll get to it when it becomes more widely available. Meanwhile I must resist the spoiler video.
