The first two verses of “Beauty and the Beast” were edited out, wonder why?
If you want to hear the whole set from this tour, the recent expanded editon of Stage has it all. Over the years this band has taken some flak for being too slick and smooth for the Spiders and Berlin-era songs. I get that, but it’s a silly criticism. You can’t fault musicians this good for being who they are, and there are many ways to skin a cat. These guys are badasses, and I loved seeing them in this video and in person. Anyway, the Berlin songs could never be replicated live. You might as well expect the Beatles to perform “Strawberry Fields” at Shea Stadium.
