Ha ha. No.
I think these films hit the stupidity event horizon for me when Phoenix – in one of the X-Men movies – could do, just…. anything. That removes a lot of dramatic weight.
Thanos’s snap had little emotional impact for me, as I figured they were all coming back. The Emperor – who fell into a hypermatter furnace with more power than the sun – is magically resurrected for Episode IX: We’re Out of Ideas.
Scorsese walked back his statement that “nothing is at risk” in these cinematic experiences, but he was totally right.
Harley Quinn is the only superhero show worth watching.
I’m not sure if I’ve reached superhero saturation, or just Marvel saturation. I thought The Suicide Squad was fun as hell. And Harley Quinn is great! Thanks for the tip.
The Marvel shit got ridiculous a long time ago. DC films aren’t that good, but of all the memorable comic to screen adaptations I think of, they’re the most memorable, and the best are all from DC.
I’m not going to edit that, because it’s Friday, and it’s still true, however stupid.
