I gotta thank a certain bastard for turning me on to this guy, Rick Beato. He knows a shitload about music theory and can play seemingly any instrument. (His kid is scary gifted, but that’s a post for another day.)
In today’s episode, Beato breaks down “Been Caught Stealing,” Jane’s Addiction’s biggest hit from 1990’s Ritual de lo Habitual. Check it.
First song on The Many Styles of Stiles , which pioneered the format and gave rise to Austin’s Last Angry Man.
On cassette!
Yasss!
I was a senior in college when this album came out, taking a music appreciation class spring semester. Everybody was required to bring in a song for the entire class to listen to (and appreciate). This was my pick, because I’m so goddamned cool.
Also, cassettes are making a comeback with the kids. Or so I’m told.
