I don’t get cancel culture. Judge musicians on whether they can play, sing, or write. That’s all that matters. If you don’t like the music, don’t listen. But if you want to judge them by their beliefs or whether they’re great people, you might as well burn all your records.
This is great. Not only for the exhortation to read, but for the scale of stupidity. Someone pretty clearly anti-fascist, anti-bigotry throughout his career, called out for authoritarianism and prejudice because no one understands nuance or art.
