Sopranos Prequel?

Yes, please!

Young Anthony Soprano is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities—and whose influence over his impressionable nephew will help make the teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we’ll later come to know: Tony Soprano.

  1. I’ll watch, especially if it’s the same creative team. But I’m more about Moltisanti “wrecking the Sopranos canon via IG posts.”

  2. Some fans are concerned that this will be Tony’s backstory only (which, let’s face it, is kinda lame), while others are speculating that it’s actually about Dickie Moltisanti (Christopher’s dad) and WB is featuring Tony in the trailer for marketing purposes.

But yes, still David Chase and company.

  3. Ready to talk about this one now!

What has struck me more than anything else is how little David Chase has done since Sopranos. A film (Not Fade Away), and then… this.

I like watching Vera Farmiga, because she was so great in Bates Motel.
    Bates Motel was fantastic.

    That’s all I got.
